The facelift is a cosmetic surgical procedure used to create a more youthful appearance. The facelift in Dallas affects the area from the lower portion of the ears all the way down to the neck. A facelift procedure is performed to remove wrinkles and fine lines and tightening the skin.

Many people who experience premature aging while in their 30s and 40s will opt for a facelift to retain their youthful appearance. In addition, the growing number of baby boomers who are reaching their 60s and 70s are also requesting facelifts to help them stay in the workplace longer.

Complementary Procedures

Since a facelift is for the lower portion of the face, many patients prefer to combine the facelift procedure with other procedures such as mid facelift, brow lift, and eyelid surgery.

These procedures are commonly performed on an outpatient basis so the patient can go home to recover at the end of the day. The incisions for facelift surgery are nearly all hidden behind the hairline, and those that are not are placed within natural skin folds or behind the ear. When healing is complete, these incisions are usually very difficult to see.

Recovery

After surgery for a facelift in Dallas, most patients will be able to go home. However, some may be required to spend the night at the hospital or surgical center. The following morning dressings should be removed.

It is normal for the patient to experience swelling and bruising after the surgery. This will typically go away within a few days following the surgery. Pain is generally minimal and can easily be controlled. Within one week, most patients feel comfortable enough to resume most daily activities with some restrictions.

Most patients are able to return to their usual routine within two weeks.
