Correct Sizing For Inkjet Labels

by | Aug 18, 2017 | Printers

There are different sizes and types of labels specifically designed for an inkjet printer. These labels use a specific type of paper that will absorb the ink from the printer and dry quickly, ensuring crisp, clear edges of text and images without any smearing or smudging.

Pre-Printed Labels

A very popular option for any size of inkjet labels is to choose a pre-printed option. This allows a business to have their company name, address and even a logo printed on the label when it is shipped. Then, when printing at the business, all that needs to be added is the customer information.

With automated systems and software, this makes printing large or small volume runs of labels very easy. It will also save on ink at your facility as only the recipient’s address has to be printed.

Blank Labels

With blank inkjet labels, as well as with pre-printed options, having a good selection of sizes based on your mailing and shipping needs will be important. Standard sizes for letters, legal envelopes and then a large size for packages is typically a good option for any business.

The jumbo sizes of mailing labels are usually reserved for packages. For any company shipping several different types of packages or boxes, having at least a small, medium and large size of shipping label to match the size of the shipping box or package will be important.

Ideally, inkjet labels should be large enough to provide the number of lines of text required for the customer’s address or your business information. International packaging may require additional space for different addressing formats used across the world.

Buying in bulk for any type of shipping and mailing labels for an inkjet printer is highly recommended. This will save on the cost of the labels as well as provide a good supply on hand.
