Pavers Are Perfect For Around Your Swimming Pool

When the decision is made to add an inground pool in the backyard of you home you will be faced with many decisions that have to be made. When you reach the stage where you begin coordinating with the hardscape contractor you will have to decide what pool deck you want.

You will be faced with basically three choices; stamped concrete, wooden decking or pool deck pavers. For most people the obvious choice is pavers, why is this? There are numerous reasons, let’s look at a few.

  • Durability: When pavers are installed properly they are very durable, there are not many materials that can stand up to the wear and tear that is expected around a pool. Other material such as wood will splinter as it dries out, full concrete slabs can crack and natural stone always has an uneven feel to it.

  • Easy to install: Installing pavers are quite simple and straight forward. Of course you will want the job to be done by a professional to ensure the grade is correct but when using pool deck pavers the installation will go quickly and there is no drying out period.

  • Easy to lift: If the pool deck is damaged or you have to get under the deck to get at piping it is easy to lift one or more pavers. As pavers interlock, small areas can easily be lifted and replaced.

  • Safety: Pool decks are always wet and slippery. The texture of pavers is such that they don’t get slippery; this makes them by far the safest of any option available.

  • Affordable: Installing an inground pool is not cheap; you can help your budget by opting for affordable materials where possible. Pavers are less expensive than other options making them very “budget friendly.”

With all of their benefits, pool deck pavers are also beautiful. They are available in a host of colors, designs and shapes that are the crowning touch to your new pool.
