If you have small children in the home or who are over to visit on a regular basis, it is important to understand how the temperament of French bulldogs compare to other breeds. Please keep in mind this is general information. Every dog is different and all owners of French bulldogs in San Diego should be watchful at all times.
Fun Play and High Energy
Frenchies, for the most part, love to play and interact with their owners, their family and those they are familiar with. They have a lot of energy. A good way to keep them happy is to engage in supervised play time with your pooch and the family.
Big Dog in a Small Body
Like many small breeds, French bulldogs have what is often referred to as the ‘big dog in a small body’ personality. They act tough and make a lot of noise at times and can be aggressive in their play, but it is usually not with the intention to harm anyone.
Loves Attention and Affection
French bulldogs enjoy love and affection and will often make it known when they want pets, belly rubs or when they just want to sit in your lap. They like attention but will let you know when they need space so make sure children give them space when needed.
