Buying a New Stick-Shift Car Through a Naperville Mazda Dealership

Men and women who love the control and fun factor of a manual transmission are dismayed at the dwindling numbers of new cars with this feature. They’ll be happy to learn that they can still buy a new car with a stick shift at a Naperville Mazda dealership. The Mazda 3 and the MX-5 Miata can be purchased with a manual. In fact, that transmission comes standard with the Miata.

Dwindling Sales for Stick Shifts

Passenger vehicle manufacturers offer fewer cars and trucks with manual transmissions each year because they see low consumer demand for the equipment. Some cars, however, continue to be produced with a stick shift because a large percentage of buyers want the manual in those particular models. The Miata, available from a Naperville Mazda Ddalership, is a case in point.

The Miata Models and Mazda 3 Cars

Jalopnik reports that a majority of buyers actually want a stick shift in the MX-5 Miata. About 75 percent of people who buy this car select one with a manual, while the rest want the optional automatic. With the Miata RF, though, about half the buyers choose an automatic.

Both of these cars are two-door coupe convertibles, with the RF having a hard top and the MX-5 a soft top. In contrast, the Mazda 3 is available as a four-door sedan with a trunk or a four-door hatchback. Only the hatchback is offered with a manual transmission. All of these automobiles can be purchased through Hawk Mazda, which lists its inventory online.
