For many, it can be a very intimidating and nerve-wracking occasion, but something men can easily overlook about the first date is that you got already got her to say she would go on a date with you – she said yes! So keep it simple, she’s already interested enough to invest her time. You are home free in getting to know her better and if all goes well, to have a second, third, and future dates.

Share a Course
A good first date advice for men is to remember your manners and be chivalrous. Yes, we are in an era of “women can do anything a man can,” but they still like men to pull out a chair and open a door for them. If you and your date are dining out and especially if it’s the first date, then you shouldn’t try anything as cliché or corny as ordering for her. You should ask her what she likes to eat and consider sharing one of the bigger entrées or deserts; which is a great way to get a little closer, but mind your manners! Unfortunately, a lot of men mistakenly think they should at some point order for the woman, but instead in modern times it’s often best to let her place her own order; especially if you don’t want to seem controlling by the women’s standards of today.
What Do You …?
While out on your date, make her the object of your attention. Ask questions which will help you get to know her likes and dislikes. Getting to know her more intimately will help you ask her for another date and she in all likelihood will say yes – unless you were involved in some massive dating blunder. There should be a good flow of conversation between the both of you. Ask her questions like, what are some of things which make her happy and if she had a bucket list, what would be on it? Listen to her answers and make a mental note. Be sure not to make your conversation sound like an interrogation, listen carefully, be patient, and ask follow up questions.
End the Date with a Future
Other first date advice for men involves picking up the check. There shouldn’t be any question about who pays for the first date, doubly so if you asked her out. Remember, this date is an investment in your dating future, which could lead to a strong, lasting relationship. Okay, you two made a great connection, now you are seeing her to her door. You are thinking, “Do I go in for a kiss?” Stifle the mounting pressure and instead look into her eyes and say, “Thank you for making this a great night,” then do your best to get a grasp of the situation and go from there. At the absolute least, tell her you would like to see her again and inquire about a second date.
Follow-Up
No… you aren’t finished yet, forget about those rules which say you should wait for 1-3 days before you contact her again. Always let her know the next day how much you enjoyed the date and you can’t wait for the next one, it’s important for women to know you’re thinking about them soon after you’ve acquired their phone number or after the first date. If you are honest and sincere when you let a woman know how much you enjoyed her company, it’s a gigantic leap towards a good foundation for a healthy relationship built on communication.
