Couplings hold one or more diverse elements together. They come in different designs including meshing tooth, pin, and bush. Shaft couplings connect at least two rotating shafts. They absorb any misalignments that exist between the shafts. Rexnord couplings include several shaft types. The quality and durability of those produced by the Rexnord Corporation for more than a century have resulted in avid support from their clients across American states such as Texas and Louisiana.
Rexnord Shaft Coupling Styles and Applications
Rexnord produces four basic types of shaft couplings. These fall into the following categories:
* Disc Coupling: These utilize one or more thin, metal discs in one or more stages to bolt the hubs of the shafts. These flexible devices not only transmit torque, they manage any angular (but not parallel) misalignment. Their flexibility makes them successful in power transmission
* Fluid Couplings: This type is employed commonly in transmitting the rotating mechanical power for automobile transmissions. Unlike other types of couplings, this is a hydrodynamic device
* Gear Coupling: Like disc couplings, this style also transmits high torques and can handle misalignment. Rarely functioning alone, Rexnord couplings of this type work in pairs. Unlike other types of, they tend to require a lubricant
* Grid Coupling: These couplings also possess high torque transmission capability. In addition, they are impressive for their ability to easily absorb shock and reduce torsional vibration. Unlike gear couplings, grid couplings do not require a lubricant. Like disc couplings, they function well in for the power transmission industry
Not all distributors in Texas carry the full range of shaft couplings.
Rexnord Couplings
As rigid or flexible mechanical devices, Rexnord couplings connect two or more rotating shafts. While doing so, they absorb any misalignment between them. In industries in Texas, they are a common component for compressors, generators, motors and pumps. Selection depends upon the purpose, the environment and the specifications of the equipment and the customer.
