Research indicates the continued popularity of signs. While other methods of advertising come and go, signage remains. The reasons are not complicated. Signs attract the notice of passerbys. They are an easy, efficient and cost-effective means of drawing attention and even traffic into your Chicago or Miami place of business. They are an excellent communication device when employed correctly and designed appropriately.

 * Visibility: In order for the customer to read the message and be attracted by it, the signage must be visible. Retailers need to position the signs in a place where customers and potential customers can easily view and read it clearly

 * Font: Location and proximity can determine font size. However, the style of font can and should vary but not jarringly so. Consider what the most popular font is. Look at what is easiest to read. Consider which types prove to be the most eye-catching.

All these factors will contribute to producing the perfect sign for your retail store.

If you plan to open a business, or are trying to communicate a specific message, you need to understand the basics behind creating and placing a sign. Studies indicate signs are a very effective method for retailers of all types. However, as with any forms of communication, the media and the message must be clear. If the design is flawed and the message muddled, the signage you place outside or inside your store in Chicago will fail to provide you with the results you are hoping for.
