Bottle Carriers – Types and Features

by | Nov 9, 2015 | Industrial Goods and Services

Imagine a life without bottle carriers, the little containers or connectors that keep your bottles together for easy transportation. It seems like a silly question, but, how would you carry multiple bottles at once without them? Perhaps, you would use a box? While this would allow one to carry a multitude of bottles, it would not offer much support, and could result in the bottles crashing into one another, and/or falling over. This option is also not environmentally friendly, and is not necessarily helpful if there is not a box readily available. A bag is not an ideal choice, due to its lack of balance, structure, and support. This, too, could end up in broken glass and a ripped bag.

Some Solutions
Fortunately, we have bottle carriers to make transporting numerous bottles. Bottle carriers can be made from multiple materials, including the following:

  • Cardboard
  • Plastic
  • Shrunk plastic wrap
  • Wood

Different types of carriers have different disadvantages and advantages. For instance, a cardboard carrier may be collapsible, easy to store, and recyclable. On the other hand, it may not be as sturdy as, say, a wood carrier. A wood carrier would offer support and neat decoration after its use, but it is not as easily storable, flexible or lightweight. This would make it heavier to ship and store, as the weight would add up quickly. Shrunk plastic wrap is ideal for compactness, but, it usually does not include handles for easy carrying.

Plastic Carriers
Plastic carriers are perhaps the most versatile type of bottle carriers. They can come in ring form, connecting the bottles around their necks, or, can connect bottles to each other directly under their cap. They are available in different combinations, which include:

  • Unipack
  • Twinpack
  • Threepack
  • Fourpack
  • Sixpack

Additionally, there are different arrangements within the combinations. For instance, the threepack could be arranged in a triangular or linear format. Plastic colors and thickness may vary. Additionally, some plastic carriers may be made from recycled material. They are easy to dispose of, and may also be a sustainable material that can be recycled. Most bottle carriers have handles, and can be removed using one’s hands or scissors.
