Why You Should Consider Moving into an Apartment Near Your College

by | Dec 17, 2021 | Student Housing Center

Many colleges offer affordable housing options, but if you want your own space, then you want to consider looking into student apartments. While there are some that are unfurnished, many have basic items that can be beneficial in getting you started while you’re away from home along with a few other reasons to think about.

Contracts

Even though the summer months might mean that you’re not taking classes in college, it doesn’t have to mean that you have to move from one of the OSU student apartments. Many complexes offer a year-long contract so that you can move in when the fall semester starts and stay in your home until the next fall semester starts. You can usually find apartments that offer shorter leases as well if you know that your housing situation might change.

Pets

A benefit of many of the OSU student apartments that are available is that you can have your pets with you. Keep in mind that you might have to pay an additional deposit when moving in, but you’ll usually get that back when you move out as long as there’s no damage in the unit. This means that you’ll be able to keep your favorite dog, cat, or another animal that you’ve had at home with you instead of leaving it behind.

Privacy

Instead of listening to people walking down the halls in a residence hall on campus, you’ll have a bit more privacy in an apartment. There could still be a few noises that you’ll hear, but they will usually be everyday noises like traffic.
